Pacers dominate Warriors

Feb 29, 2012 - 3:10 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger netted nine of his 18 shots from the field en route to 25 points, as the Indiana Pacers dominated the Golden State Warriors, 102-78, on Tuesday.

Six Pacers scored in double figures. Tyler Hansbrough had 15, Roy Hibbert had 12, and Paul George and Darren Collison finished with 11 apiece. David West rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Indiana won its fifth straight game, its longest such streak since the club won five in a row from March 19-26, 2010.

"A good start to the second half [of the season]," said Pacers head coach Frank Vogel. "We wanted to come out in the second half and and set the tone with a strong effort. We're getting back to being a strong defensive team again. Guys are comfortable with their roles."

Brandon Rush and Monta Ellis each had 14 for the Warriors, who had won their last two. David Lee added 12 points in defeat.

Charles Jenkins, starting in place of injured Golden State assists leader Stephen Curry, finished with two points and two assists. Curry suffered a tendon strain in his right foot last Wednesday in Phoenix.

Indiana began the game on a 10-0 run, but a late 7-0 spurt by Golden State cut their deficit to just three, 24-21, after one.

The Warriors briefly claimed the lead in the second, when a tip-in by Klay Thompson put the visitors up 25-24. But Hansbrough converted two free throw opportunities 17 seconds later, and Indiana finished the period on an 11-1 run to hold a 52-38 edge at halftime.

"They just came out with a little more energy than we had. They just played harder than we did. And they had a lot of weapons," said Rush.

Granger and company enjoyed a double-digit advantage throughout the second half, as their lead ballooned to as many as 33.

Game Notes

The Pacers hit the century mark for their fourth straight game, their longest streak of 100 or more this season. They are 21-3 when scoring at least 90 in 2011-12...Hibbert, George and Hansbrough each finished with nine rebounds. West had seven...The Pacers scored 26 fastbreak points to the Warriors' nine...Golden State shot 34.1 percent (29-of-85) from the field.
