Wade sinks Pacers in OT

Mar 11, 2012 - 6:43 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade drained the game-winning jumper with 0.1 seconds left in overtime despite a lot of contact after LeBron James made a tying three in regulation, leading the Miami Heat to a 93-91 win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Wade, who scored 28 points to lead all players, pump-faked Paul George into the air on the high left side and then leaned into the contact to draw a foul.

One wasn't called, but Wade hit nothing but net anyway for the lead and the Pacers couldn't tip the ball in at the other end to tie it.

"A gutsy win," he said.

"A big-time shot," said James, who is often criticized for passing up shots down the stretch.

James did give the ball up on Miami's final play in regulation but ended up with it anyway in the right corner for a three-pointer that tied the game.

He had 27 points and Chris Bosh scored 13 for the Heat, who have won 12 in a row at home and improved to 31-9 for the best 40-game record in franchise history.

Danny Granger scored 19 points to lead Indiana and David West had 15 with 10 rebounds. The Pacers have lost three in a row after a six-game winning streak and have dropped their last five against Miami.

The Heat scored five straight points in overtime to tie the game at 91-91, getting a three-pointer from James and a long jumper from Bosh before Wade hit his winner.

On Miami's final play of regulation, James drove the lane but passed off to Mario Chalmers, who then passed to Wade. Not finding a good spot, Wade found James in the right corner for the game-tying three with 10.2 seconds left.

It was a play Wade said the Heat have run in practice.

"It was about getting the best shot," he said. "We all had trust. Everyone was touching the ball and moving it until we got the shot that we wanted."

Darren Collison, who scored 14 for the Pacers, dribbled the ball away at the other end without getting off a shot.

"We had this game won," said Collison. "We know we can compete with this team, if not beat this team. This was our game to win ... We just didn't make the plays we needed to down the stretch."

Earlier, Indiana had a 26-17 lead after the first quarter and went ahead by as many as 14 in the second before taking a 43-29 edge into halftime. The Pacers led 61-60 after three quarters.

Game Notes

Miami has won nine of the last 10 meetings. The Southeast Division leaders went 3-0 on a three-game homestand and start a three-game road trip Tuesday in Orlando...The Heat were 30-10 after 40 games last season. They have won 12 in a row at home for the first time since a 14-game streak from Jan. 22-March 16, 2007.
