Raptors beat Cavs for third straight win
Dec 19, 2012 - 4:47 AM Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors might be banged up, but they've now tallied their longest winning streak of the season.Without Andrea Bargnani and Kyle Lowry for the fourth straight game, six Raptors finished in double figures and Toronto won its third consecutive contest with a 113-99 triumph over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jose Calderon netted 23 points with six assists and five rebounds, Alan Anderson added 18 points, Amir Johnson had 17 and DeMar DeRozan chipped in 16 for Toronto, which last won three in a row from Apr. 1-4 of last season.
The victory also snapped an 11-game road losing streak.
"Sooner or later, you've got to man up and buck up," Raptors head coach Dwane Casey said of the win.
John Lucas III poured in 11 points and Linas Kleiza added 10 in the win.
Kyrie Irving registered 23 points and seven assists for the Cavs, who have dropped four straight and nine of their last 10.
"When you give up 64 points in the second half and 35 in the fourth quarter, you're not going to win a lot of games," Cavs head coach Byron Scott said.
The Raptors took a slim two-point lead into the fourth quarter and quickly stretched that advantage into double figures with a 14-4 run.
Lucas had six points during the surge, including a four-point play, and Toronto took a 92-81 advantage with 9:09 left in the game.
Cleveland never cut the deficit below seven the rest of the way.
The Cavs led, 29-22, after a quarter of play before taking a 53-49 edge into the break.
Toronto took a 78-76 cushion into the final frame.
