Conley leads Grizzlies past Bucks

Dec 1, 2012 - 7:10 AM Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Mike Conley filled the stat sheet with 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and six steals in the Memphis Grizzlies' 90-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Rudy Gay tallied a game-high 18 points and Marc Gasol added 17 points and 11 boards for Memphis, which has won four in a row.

"We won four out of five," Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said of the Grizzlies' recent homestand. "We defended and we outscored the other teams. That's what it's about."

The Grizzlies forced 22 turnovers, which led to 31 points.

Greg Monroe had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Pistons, who had won four of their last six contests coming in.

"We definitely had a chance to win the game if we didn't turn the ball over as many times as we did," Monroe admitted.

The Pistons began the third on a 12-2 run and Greg Monroe's layup tied the game at 57-57 with 6:50 left in the period.

Memphis, though, responded with a 13-3 surge.

Conley had a three-point play and nailed two 3-pointers during the outburst and the hosts took a 70-60 lead with 2:56 to play in the frame.

Memphis took a 76-66 edge into the fourth and Detroit never got within less than eight in the final stanza.

Earlier, the Grizzlies led, 22-21, after a quarter of play.

A Charlie Villanueva 3-pointer pulled the visitors within 40-39 midway through the second, but the Grizzlies used a 9-0 spurt to gain some breathing room before taking a 53-45 edge into the break.
