Lee leads Warriors past Raptors

Mar 5, 2013 - 8:09 AM Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - David Lee posted 29 points and 11 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors ended a four-game skid by beginning a seven-game homestand with a 125-118 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

Stephen Curry also contributed a double-double with 26 points and 12 assists, while Klay Thompson shot 8-for-11 en route to 22 points. Jarrett Jack added 16 and Harrison Barnes donated 12 in the victory.

"We played very well," said Warriors coach Mark Jackson. "They had a couple of guys that got hot Andrea Bargnani, Rudy Gay -- but we battled and competed."

Rudy Gay returned for Toronto after missing Saturday's contest with back spasms to score 26 points, but couldn't help the Raptors halt their losing streak, which extended to five games.

Andrea Bargnani tallied 26 points and seven boards, Amir Johnson totaled 23 points and 15 rebounds and Kyle Lowry just missed his second straight triple- double, finishing with 11 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in the setback.

"We were there but we weren't there," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. "Against shooters like this, you have to be step-for-step, body-for-body and continue to have contact and not lose contact."

After getting outscored by 15 points in the third, the Warriors found themselves behind by seven, but Thompson helped bring the Warriors back with some sharp shooting early in the fourth.

He hit a pull up jumper before burying a pair of triples to give Golden State a 93-92 lead just under two minutes into the fourth.

The Raptors briefly took back the advantage on a Johnson layup and the contest went through three ties before the Warriors took control with a 9-0 spurt.

Barnes buried a triple to break the 100-100 tie, Thompson converted a pair from the free throw line and Curry's pull up jumper created a seven-point spread with 3 1/2 minutes to play. Lee then padded the edge with two free throws.

The Raptors reduced their deficit to six with 1:49 left, but Barnes converted a three-point play 42 seconds later. The Warriors then sealed the victory with free throws down the stretch.

Trailing 62-54 at the half, Toronto bridged the second and third quarters with a 14-0 run to take the lead at 64-62, but Golden State responded with an 11-2 spurt to reclaim a seven-point edge.

Bargnani, though, buried his fifth triple of the contest before Gay added one of his own and then followed with a three-point play to put the Raptors ahead, 75-73, and they held a 90-83 edge to start the fourth.

Golden State has won eight in a row over the Raptors at home and seven of the last eight contests overall ... Curry has scored at least 25 points in five straight contests ... There were 12 lead changes and 11 ties throughout the contests.
