Paul leads Clips past Sixers
Feb 12, 2013 - 2:58 AM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Chris Paul is quickly returning to form and the Los Angeles Clippers are back to their winning ways.Paul had 21 points, 11 assists and five steals in three quarters of work as the Clippers routed the Philadelphia 76ers in a wire-to-wire victory, 107-90, on Monday.
Blake Griffin and Jamal Crawford both netted 20 points for Los Angeles, which has won two straight after losing its first contest since Paul returned Friday against the Miami Heat.
Paul had missed 12 of the Clippers' previous 14 games due to a bone bruise on his right knee cap. Los Angeles went 6-6 during his absence.
Los Angeles led by as many as 32 points in the blowout.
The highlight of the game came in the third when Griffin leapt and dunked over the Sixers' Spencer Hawes. Along the left baseline, Griffin went up strong with both hands and switched to his left before ferociously throwing it down.
"That was nasty," Paul said of the dunk.
Nick Young had 29 points against his former team to lead the Sixers, who have dropped two of their last three tilts.
The Clippers got off to a 10-1 start and never looked back.
They led 30-22 after a quarter of play, 56-33 at the half and 88-59 heading into the final frame.
"Their defense was tremendous," Sixers head coach Doug Collins said. "Their bigs are so active and quick ... they were impressive."
Game Notes
The Clippers moved to 24-6 this season when scoring 100-or-more points ... Evan Turner, Jrue Holiday and Jeremy Pargo all poured in 10 points for Philadelphia ... The Clippers went 4-4 on their road trip.
