Hawks use balanced attack to take down Knicks
Nov 17, 2013 - 7:34 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Talk about spreading the wealth.Jeff Teague was one of eight Hawks in double figures with 16 points as Atlanta routed the New York Knicks, 110-90, on Saturday night.
Kyle Korver netted 15 points, Paul Millsap had 14 points and 13 rebounds, Al Horford and Shelvin Mack each poured in 12, Mike Scott chipped in 11 and DeMarre Carroll and Gustavo Ayon each added 10 for Atlanta, which has won four of its last five games.
"I think it was great to see the bench give us what they gave us tonight. I think defensively that was the closest to a complete game we've had," Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer said.
Carmelo Anthony registered 23 points and 12 boards for the Knicks, who have dropped six of their last eight tilts.
"You're not going to beat anybody playing soft the way we did," New York head coach Mike Woodson said.
A Pablo Prigioni 3-pointer pulled the Knicks within 82-77 with 9:56 left in the fourth, but the Hawks countered with a 16-4 run to put the game away.
Ayon put in a pair of layups, Korver recorded a four-point play and Horford capped the surge with a layup to give Atlanta a healthy 98-81 cushion with 4:38 left.
The Knicks led 26-24 after a quarter of play, but a 15-2 Hawks swing early in the second helped the hosts build a 43-34 spread before taking a 54-47 lead into the locker room.
Atlanta took an 80-69 advantage into the fourth.

The Hawks shot 56.4 percent (44-of-78) from the floor and 40.9 percent (9- of-22) from beyond the arc ... New York outrebounded Atlanta, 48-36, but shot just 37.8 percent (34-of-90) from the field.
