Crawford notches triple-double as Celtics crush Cavs
Nov 30, 2013 - 6:14 AM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Crawford registered a triple-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, as the Boston Celtics pounded the Cleveland Cavaliers, 103-86, at TD Garden.Jeff Green posted 31 points and Avery Bradley scored 21 for the Celtics, who shot 61 percent in the first quarter when they raced to an 18-point lead. Brandon Bass and Jared Sullinger each had 12 points for Boston, which has won three of its last four games. The Celtics, who never trailed, snapped a four- game skid at home.
"It was nice to put everything together," Green said. "We have had our ups and downs throughout the season. We have had quarters where we play well and quarters that we didn't, but it was good to put an all-around good game together."
Dion Waiters scored 21 in a reserve role for the Cavaliers, who have lost five in a row and eight of their last nine games.
"They jumped out on us early. We can't come out like that. We've got to come out with a sense of urgency," Waiters said.
Bradley had eight points in the first quarter, including a couple of 3- pointers in the first two minutes. Crawford also helped the Celtics gain the wide margin. Boston scored 13 in a row for an 18-2 lead. Crawford drilled a jumper for a 12-2 advantage. Later, he assisted on Bass' alley-oop bucket, which capped the big run.
Boston held a 28-10 lead after 12 minutes and carried the double-digit advantage the rest of the night. It was 55-39 at the half and 79-58 through 36 minutes. The Celtics were ahead as many as 25 on a night they limited the Cavs to 37.2 percent shooting from the floor.
Kyrie Irving had 17 points for the Cavaliers, who also received 10 points and 12 rebounds from Anderson Varejao.
Game Notes
Cleveland's bench scored 56 points. The Cavs reserves have notched at least 50 points in four of their last five games ... The Cavs are just 1-9 on the road this season.
