Heat resume mastery of Kings
Dec 21, 2013 - 5:01 AM Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Bosh had 25 points and eight rebounds as the Miami Heat defeated the Sacramento Kings for a 10th straight time, 122-103, on Friday night.Dwyane Wade netted 20 points to go with five assists and three steals, while LeBron James tallied 18 points, eight assists and six boards for Miami, which has won six of its last seven games and became the fifth team to reach 20 wins.
The Heat's 122 points scored was a season high. They shot 61.4 percent (51- of-83) from the floor, registered 70 points in the paint -- also a season high -- and netted 32 points on 20 Sacramento turnovers.
"We had to really just get used to the pace of the game and basically kind of slow it down and get what we want," Bosh said.
DeMarcus Cousins had 27 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Kings, who have dropped three in a row and five of their last six tilts.
"I'm looking at everything from a defensive perspective and we didn't have anybody that gave a good defensive effort tonight," Kings head coach Michael Malone said.
A Ben McLemore three pulled Sacramento within 72-71 at the 8:45 mark of the third before the Heat used a 16-4 run to seize control of the contest.
Wade netted five points during the surge, which was capped when Shane Battier nailed a right-corner trey for an 88-75 Miami cushion with 4:16 remaining in the frame.
The Heat took a 98-82 spread into the fourth, where they led by as many as 25 before cruising to the easy win.
Earlier, Sacramento made 14 of its first 18 shots from the floor and led 36-33 after a quarter of play, but Miami outscored the Kings 34-25 in the second and took a 67-61 spread into the break.
