Parker guides Spurs past Raptors

Dec 24, 2013 - 5:37 AM San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Tony Parker registered 26 points and eight assists and San Antonio made 6-of-7 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Spurs edged the Toronto Raptors, 112-99, from AT&T Center.

Manu Ginobili had 18 points off the bench in the triumph, San Antonio's third in its last four games. Danny Green netted 12 of his 14 points in the final period on 4-of-4 from the arc, while Kawhi Leonard added a pair of 3s as part of his 13-point, 10-rebound effort. Tim Duncan grabbed a game-high 12 boards.

Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross scored 23 points apiece for Toronto, which had won four of five entering the contest. Lowry also dished out a game-high nine assists, while DeMar DeRozan added 13 points and seven boards.

"They're a really good team," said Lowry. "Their players are hall-of-famers, they have a fall-of-fame coach."

The Spurs led 78-72 heading into the decisive fourth quarter. Lowry's steal and transition layup made it a five-point game 2:28 in, forcing a San Antonio timeout.

Parker, Duncan and Leonard all checked back in for the Spurs, and the 3-point onslaught was on. Green sank a pair around a Parker pull-up jumper to push the lead to 10.

Green made his third triple after four straight Raptors points, but Toronto would not go down quietly. Lowry assisted on consecutive Ross buckets for a 100-95 Spurs edge, but Leonard brought the crowd to its feet with his corner 3. Ginobili followed with two free throws and Green hit from outside with 1:03 showing to put the game away.

"A win is a win," said Parker. "They've been playing well, the Raptors. They had a big win in OKC, and they made it hard on us."

Lowry scored 12 in the opening period to help Toronto to a 26-25 lead after a quarter, but the Spurs assumed control early in the second. Ginobili's dunk from Tiago Splitter on the opening possession of the frame put the Spurs in front, and they never trailed after that.

San Antonio led 55-49 at intermission.
