Final
Green, Frye carry Suns over Bucks
Jan 5, 2014 - 6:31 AMVideo
Green and Frye combined to shoot 10-for-16 from 3-point range.
Goran Dragic added 15 points and six assists and Markieff Morris donated 14 points for the Suns, winners in three of their last four games.
Suns guard Eric Bledsoe missed his second straight game with a sprained right knee. He is expected to miss up to a week with the injury.
Brandon Knight scored 25 points and dished out eight assists and O.J. Mayo scored 20 points off the bench for the Bucks, losers in five of their last six.
Milwaukee allowed 38 points off a season-high 26 turnovers in the setback.
"It was the turnovers that really hurt us, and turnovers that you can't even recover from. That's the disheartening part about a game like this," said Bucks coach Larry Drew. "We had an opportunity to put some things together but we can't do it the way we turned the basketball over like we did."
Marcus Morris gave the Suns an 11-point led with his jumper at 2:39 of the first quarter, but the Bucks closed the frame on a 13-4 run to get within 28-26 after 12 minutes.
Phoenix took a 58-38 lead in the second with Green's triple at the 2:13 mark, but Milwaukee closed the quarter with another run to go into the break trailing 60-49.
The Suns' lead swelled to 23 points just past the midway point of the third quarter, but the Bucks kept chipping away and got their deficit to single digits, 87-78, entering the final frame.
Mayo had the Bucks within seven, 91-84, 3:20 into the final frame, but the Suns were able to create some distance with 21-8 flurry and never looked back.
"We built the lead up and got it to 20 at one point because we didn't let those guys run their stuff. Then when we sat back and let them run their stuff then they got shots and they got guys that can shoot the ball," said Suns coach Jeff Hornacek. "We just have to remember that defensively we have to have a sustained effort for all 48 minutes especially when five out of our next seven day are on the road."
