Collison and Clippers rout Magic

Jan 7, 2014 - 6:36 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Darren Collison scored a season-high 21 points and dished out seven assists as the Los Angeles Clippers cruised to a 101-81 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday.

Blake Griffin poured in 16 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists and DeAndre Jordan added 14 points, 17 boards and eight blocks for the Clippers, winners in three of their last four games.

"I'm just in the right spots. I can control how hard I work defensively. I like the pressure. When we focus on getting stops, we get a lot of easy buckets," said Jordan.

Victor Oladipo and Maurice Harkless both scored 22 points with Oladipo adding eight rebounds and five assists for the Magic, losers in four straight.

Nelson gave the Magic their only lead of the game with his 3-pointer 57 seconds in. The Clippers would score the next 18 points of the game to go up 20-3 before taking a 36-18 lead into the second quarter.

"They came out with an extreme sense of urgency. They had good ball movement. Their pace was great and we couldn't catch them," said Magic coach Jacque Vaughn.

Orlando had the lead down to 14 points, 46-32, but LA closed the half on a 14-2 run to take a 60-34 lead into the break.

The Clippers lead reached 35 point several times in the third, and the Magic couldn't get closer than 16 the rest of the way.
