Andray Blatche added 20 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for the Nets, who have won six of their last seven games. Paul Pierce and Alan Anderson tallied 18 and 15 points, respectively.
"We just exploited mismatches. I was just feeding off these guys," Johnson said. "We had a lot of ball movement and took a lot of open shots."
Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack each had 17 points for the Hawks, who have lost two in a row. Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap donated 16 and 13 points, respectively.
"Their size and their length was a problem in a lot of different ways, and rebounding was just one of them," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said.
A back-and-forth first quarter featured 12 lead changes and four ties. The Nets led 31-27 after 12 minutes of action.
Brooklyn created some distance midway through the second stanza with a 12-4 run. Kevin Garnett's slam and jumper made it a 51-40 game with 5:16 left.
The Nets outscored the Hawks by a 34-26 margin in the second to take a 65-53 edge into the locker room.
Brooklyn stayed hot in the second half, starting the third quarter on an 11-2 run. Shaun Livingston's layup with 7:58 to go made it a 76-55 contest.
The Nets went 7-of-9 from beyond the arc in the third to build a 99-74 lead, and didn't allow the Hawks to trim their deficit below 20 points until the final moments of the fourth.
Atlanta guard Kyle Korver entered the final period 0-for-5 from three-point range. He finally connected from beyond the arc with 8:24 to play, extending his NBA record to 108 consecutive games with at least one made 3-pointer.
