Jordan, Clips down Pistons

Jan 20, 2014 - 10:36 PM Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - DeAndre Jordan had 16 points and 21 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Detroit Pistons 112-103 on Monday afternoon.

"I am just trying to do what I can to make our team win, trying to stay active and anchor the defense," Jordan said.

Jamal Crawford netted 26 points, Blake Griffin added 25 and J.J. Redick registered 20 points and six assists for the Clippers, who are 6-2 since losing point guard Chris Paul to a shoulder injury.

Rodney Stuckey scored 29 points and Josh Smith tallied 24 for Detroit, which had won three of its last four tilts coming in.

"Josh (Smith) was playing well and (Rodney) Stuckey obviously was playing well. Even if we didn't get as many shots from other people, we have to get other folks to take shots and to make some shots," Pistons head coach Maurice Cheeks said.

Detroit led 28-26 after a quarter of play, but the Clippers began to pull away early in the second.

After Stuckey hit a pull-up jumper to stake Detroit a 31-26 cushion, the Clippers answered with a 16-2 run. Redick had nine points during the surge, including a four-point play. Jordan's alley-oop dunk capped the swing and gave LA a 42-33 lead with 7:52 left in the second.

Los Angeles took a 64-53 spread into the break.

A Kentavious Caldwell-Pope layup pulled the Pistons within 75-67 a little before the midway point of the third, but Matt Barnes concluded an 11-4 flurry with a 3-pointer to extend the margin to 86-69.

The Clippers took a 94-78 spread into the fourth, where they led by as many as 20 before cruising to the easy win.
