Clippers thump Jazz

Feb 2, 2014 - 6:52 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamal Crawford scored 27 points off the bench, and Blake Griffin added 25 points with 11 rebounds to power the Los Angeles Clippers to a 102-87 win over the Utah Jazz.

DeAndre Jordan totaled 10 points, 14 boards and three blocks, and Darren Collison finished with 11 points and six assists for the Clippers, who beat the Jazz for the eighth straight time.

The Clippers, who had their four-game winning streak broken Thursday night with a 19-point loss at Golden State, held a dominant 60-45 scoring advantage in the second half against Utah.

"Our offense started clicking in the second half," Crawford said. "We were able to create energy. We found our rhythm."

The Jazz, who shot 31 percent over the final two quarters, have lost back-to- back games. Enes Kanter had 23 points and 14 rebounds, and Richard Jefferson scored 19 in defeat.

"They showed their experience on us. Jamal Crawford made some big shots," Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said. "They executed in the second half. We just didn't get the stops when we needed to."

LA turned a 58-55 deficit into a big lead thanks to a giant spurt in the third quarter. Crawford's 3-point play capped the burst, which gave the Clippers a 69-59 lead with 2:19 remaining. It was 76-65 going into the fourth quarter.

Utah didn't get closer than nine in the final 12 minutes.

The Jazz led by as many as seven in the first quarter and settled for a 21-19 edge at the conclusion of the period. It was tight throughout the second and the game was tied at 42 at the break.

Utah saw teammates Derrick Favors (right hip) and Jeremy Evans (tailbone/elbow) sit out with injuries ... The Clippers have taken five straight as the host in this series ... LA shot 51.4 percent compared to 35.8 for Utah, which was also 10-of-30 from 3-point range.
