Clippers win tight one against struggling Blazers
Feb 13, 2014 - 8:12 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Blake Griffin had 36 points and 10 rebounds and the Los Angeles Clippers prevailed 122-117 in a see-saw affair against the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center.Jamal Crawford supplied 25 points and Chris Paul scored 20 and dished out 12 assists for the Clippers, who head into the All-Star break on a three-game winning streak.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points, one of six Blazers in double figures, while Damian Lillard went 8-of-12 from the field and finished with 21 points.
Portland has lost six of nine.
"We definitely wanted to be on better terms going into the break," Aldridge said.
In a game that featured 40 lead changes, the Clippers went ahead for good when Paul's jumper made it 116-115 with 3:03 remaining.
With the Blazers trailing by three, Nicolas Batum missed consecutive shots from beyond the arc in the final minute. Crawford then capped a 10-of-11 effort at the free-throw line and sealed the win by sinking two attempts with 15.7 seconds remaining.
"When we needed to get the stops we needed, we did," Paul said.
Neither team led by more seven points throughout the tightly contested game.

Griffin has scored 25 points or more in eight straight games, tying Elton Brand for the most since the Clippers moved to Los Angeles ... The Clippers won a fifth consecutive home meeting with Portland ... Paul surpassed 11,000 points for his career ... LA's DeAndre Jordan grabbed only six rebounds. He had recorded at least 10 rebounds in each of his previous 31 games ... Batum totaled 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
