Crawford leads Clippers past Pelicans

Feb 25, 2014 - 5:59 AM New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - There was no letdown for the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

One day after knocking off the Thunder in Oklahoma City, the Clippers downed the New Orleans Pelicans 123-110 behind good ball movement and a balanced scoring attack.

Jamal Crawford shot 7-of-12 from behind the arc and logged 24 points, Blake Griffin chipped in with 22 points and Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan each posted gaudy double-doubles in the triumph.

The Clippers made 16 3-pointers and had 34 assists on 43 made baskets.

"When you play that unselfish with that many good players, a lot of good things are going to happen," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said.

Anthony Davis led New Orleans with 26 points and 11 rebounds but was hit with an inopportune technical foul down the stretch of a fourth straight loss. Alexis Ajinca netted 19 points in the setback.

The Clippers made six 3-pointers in the second quarter as they extended a 32-26 edge entering the frame to 61-53 heading into the locker room.

Crawford added two more from long range early in the third and Griffin's personal 9-0 run, capped by an alley-oop off a feed from Paul, stretched LA's lead to 76-58 just four minutes into the period.

The closest the Pelicans got from there was 10, when Jeff Withey put back a Tyreke Evans miss to bring the hosts within 100-90 with 7:39 left in regulation.

Crawford answered with a 3-pointer, and three Paul free throws stemming from Davis' foul and subsequent technical gave the Clippers a healthy 111-95 lead that never dipped into single digits.

"They just made shots tonight," Davis said.
