Clippers dominate Pelicans

Mar 2, 2014 - 6:37 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul had 21 points and eight assists and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 108-76, on Saturday night.

Blake Griffin netted 20 points, and DeAndre Jordan snatched 12 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won four straight.

"Our defense was great, there wasn't a lot of bad tonight and that was a good thing. If we can defend with the offense we have, we're going to be pretty good," LA head coach Doc Rivers said.

Tyreke Evans tallied 22 points and nine rebounds, while Alex Ajinca added 11 points and 10 boards for New Orleans, which has dropped seven in a row and nine of its last 10.

"We didn't come ready to play, that's my responsibility and that's the responsibility of our leaders. They pushed us around," Pelicans head coach Monty Williams said.

Griffin poured in 12 quick points as the Clippers raced out to a 22-6 start past the midway point of the first.

LA was up 30-13 before the Pelicans used a 9-0 spurt that bridged into the second quarter, which got them within 30-22, but the Clips countered and embarked on a 11-0 run to regain control.

The Clippers led 51-36 at the break, 79-56 after three and the margin peaked at 35 in the fourth.
