Kleiza's big night helps Nuggets coast past Blazers
Oct 27, 2007 - 4:55 AM REDMOND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Linas Kleiza scored 34 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 133-125 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in a shootout in the final preseason contest for both teams on Friday.Allen Iverson added 31 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets, who led the game by as many as 30 points with 9:08 remaining in the final period.
Carmelo Anthony, Marcus Camby and Nene were among the regulars that did not see any time on the court for the Nuggets, who will host the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday to open the regular season.
The Blazers stormed back into the game with a 26-3 run over the next 6:55 to cut their deficit to seven with just over two minutes remaining.
Travis Outlaw scored 23 points to pace Portland, which will travel to San Antonio on Tuesday to begin its regular-season schedule against the Spurs.
The reigning Rookie of the Year, Brandon Roy, did not play.
