James, Cavaliers surge past Sixers

Oct 22, 2008 - 1:47 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- LeBron James had 20 points and eight rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers won their second straight preseason game, 91-83, over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.

Daniel Gibson scored 17 points and Mo Williams added 13 for the Cavaliers, who trailed by four points after three quarters.

With the game tied at 77-77, Philadelphia was held without a field goal for over five minutes as Cleveland used a 12-2 run to take the lead for good.

Sasha Pavlovic drilled a 3-pointer with 6:17 left to play, giving Cleveland an 80-77 lead and Gibson capped the burst with another shot from the arc to extend the bulge to 89-79 with 2:09 remaining.

Andre Iguodala scored 19 points and Andre Miller had 12 and 10 assists to lead the Sixers. Newcomer Elton Brand had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Cleveland has two more preseason contests before opening the regular season at the defending champion Boston Celtics on October 28.

Philadelphia has one preseason game left and opens on October 29 against the Toronto Raptors.
