Roy, Oden push Trail Blazers past Clippers

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Brandon Roy scored a game-high 17 points and rookie Greg Oden had 12 points and 13 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers secured an 87-75 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Rookie guard Jerryd Bayless scored 12 points and Joel Przybilla pulled down 10 rebounds for the Blazers, who built a 13-point halftime lead and didn't look back.

It was the first double-double in six professional games for Oden, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft who missed all of last season because of right knee surgery. He hit 6-of-8 shots in 28 minutes.

Al Thornton finished with 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Clippers, who played without new acquisitions Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and Ricky Davis. Cuttino Mobley scored 12 points and Steve Novak added nine.

Baron Davis underwent an examination on Monday on his injured left ring finger and was diagnosed with a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament. The injury, which occurred during practice on Friday, will not require surgery and Davis is expected back in the coming week.

Camby is nursing a bruised right heel and will likely miss the rest of the preseason while Ricky Davis was a healthy scratch.
