Clippers try to snap four-game losing streak

Dec 20, 2006 - 5:31 PM Toronto (10-15) at LA Clippers (10-13) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Clippers will be trying to avoid a season high-tying fifth straight loss Wednesday when they host the Toronto Raptors.

The Clippers lost five consecutive games from November 21-28. Their current slide is at four games.

When Los Angeles won 47 games and reached the Western Conference semifinals last season, it lost five in a row just once, from February 12-22.

LA's latest loss was a 108-103 setback to Houston on Sunday. Shaun Livingston scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds - both career highs - and Chris Kaman added 20 and 11.

Toronto also is coming off a loss. The Raptors dropped the opener of their four-game road trip Tuesday with a 115-98 setback to red-hot Phoenix. T.J. Ford scored 19 points and handed out nine assists and rookie Andrea Bargnani scored 18 points.

The Clippers have beaten the Raptors twice in a row and in four of the last five meetings.
