Kings look to break out of home funk against Wizards

Dec 21, 2006 - 3:03 PM Washington (12-12) at Sacramento (10-13) 10:30 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - Arco Arena has not been friendly to the Sacramento Kings recently. They now will host a team that has struggled on the road.

In the finale of a three-game homestand, the Kings will take on the Washington Wizards on Thursday.

On Monday, Brad Miller scored 19 points and Kenny Thomas finished with 15 and 15 rebounds for Sacramento in a 109-91 loss to Dallas. The Kings, who have some of the league's most raucous and loyal fans, have lost six of their last nine home contests.

The Wizards are led by the high-scoring trio of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. However, Washington has struggled on the road with a 3-9 record away from the Verizon Center.

After setting a franchise record with 60 points at the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, Arenas made just 10-of-30 shots and scored 23 points in a 117-108 loss at undermanned Denver. Butler had 26 with 10 rebounds and Jamison added 21 points for Washington.
