Jazz try to continue home mastery of Clippers

Dec 26, 2006 - 4:13 PM LA Clippers (11-15) at Utah (20-8) 9:00 pm EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- If history repeats itself, the Los Angeles Clippers are not likely to have much success Tuesday.

The Clippers hope to record just their second road victory over the Utah Jazz since the 1988-89 season when they meet at EnergySolutions Arena.

Since a 95-92 road triumph over the Jazz on April 18, 1989, the Clippers have won just once in 33 tries in Utah, a 96-89 victory on January 22, 2003. Los Angeles has dropped seven straight meetings here since, including a 112-90 setback on November 14. Los Angeles ended a six-game losing streak with a 98-93 triumph at Houston on Saturday.

Tim Thomas scored 21 points and Chris Kaman collected 15 and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who made 7-of-13 3-pointers.

Utah has alternated losses and wins over its past six games. On Saturday, the Jazz capped a 3-2 road trip with a 100-97 win at Memphis.

Carlos Boozer contributed 24 points and 11 rebounds and Mehmet Okur added 20 and nine for Utah, which made 31-of-35 free throws.
