Suns, Trail Blazers look to bounce back from tough losses

Dec 26, 2006 - 4:50 PM Portland (12-15) at Phoenix (18-7) 9:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers had their winning streaks snapped, but neither wants to drop two in a row.

Two-time MVP Steve Nash hopes to guide the Suns to their 16th win in 17 games against rising star Zach Randolph and the Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

Nash had 42 points and 12 assists and Shawn Marion added 28 points and 13 rebounds for Phoenix, which had its franchise-best 15-game winning streak ended with a 144-139 overtime defeat against Washington.

The Suns arrived just two hours prior to tipoff for Friday's matchup after spending two days in Denver due to a major blizzard on Wednesday.

Randolph scored 20 points and rookie Brandon Roy added 16 and 10 rebounds off the bench in Friday's 101-100 heartbreaking defeat vs. Toronto.

The loss put an end the Blazers' season-high five-game winning streak.

Roy, who was taken sixth overall in June's draft, is averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds after missing 20 games with a nagging heel injury.
