Nowitzki, Mavericks go in search of seventh straight win

DALLAS (Ticker) -- Superstar Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks are rolling along.

The surging Mavericks will try to extended their winning streak to six games when they host the lowly Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

Josh Howard scored 25 points and Nowitzki had 20 and 12 rebounds for Dallas in Friday's 115-83 triumph over the struggling Los Angeles Clippers.

Nowitzki is still recovering from a sprained ankle after being helped off the court in opening quarter of Wednesday's victory at Seattle.

On Saturday, Melvin Ely scored 13 points off the bench and Raymond Felton added 10 and nine assists as Charlotte suffered a 115-76 thrashing to the Chicago Bulls.

The 39-point blow-out defeat was the worst in the Bobcats' brief history.

Dallas has won all five meeting in the series, including a 90-76 victory in Charlotte on November 20 led by Nowitzki's 24 points and 14 rebounds.
