Sixers aim for third straight win Tuesday at Golden State

Dec 26, 2006 - 6:03 PM Philadelphia (7-19) at Golden State (14-15) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers look to post a season high-tying third straight victory Tuesday when they visit the Golden State Warriors in the opener of a season-high seven-game road trip.

The 76ers snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 98-83 win at Boston on Friday - the day their trade of superstar Allen Iverson to Denver became official - and followed with a 98-77 rout of New York a day later.

Philadelphia had not won consecutive games since opening the season with three straight triumphs.

Andre Iguodala scored 20 points to pace the Sixers against the Knicks on Saturday. He has led the team in scoring five straight games and seven of eight.

The Warriors concluded a 2-4 road trip with a 105-92 setback at Miami on Saturday.

Matt Barnes collected 20 points and 12 rebounds for Golden State, which lost guard Monta Ellis to a right shoulder injury in the third quarter. Ellis is averaging 17.1 points, the second-best mark on the team.

The teams have split their season series the last three campaigns.
