Dec 27, 2006 - 4:12 PM Detroit (18-8) at New York (12-18) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks hope a return to Madison Square Garden will help them forget a disappointing loss.

The Knicks look to continue their home success against the Detroit Pistons when the two teams face off on Wednesday.

After back-to-back overtime wins against Utah and Charlotte and a blowout victory over Chicago here last week, the Knicks dropped a 98-77 decision Saturday at lowly Philadelphia, which had lost 12 of its last 13 games entering the contest.

Jamal Crawford scored 20 points and David Lee added 10 points and 13 rebounds for New York, which shot 42 percent (34-of-81) and committed 20 turnovers in the contest.

On Tuesday, Chauncey Billups sank two free throws with 7.2 seconds remaining as the Pistons posted a 92-91 victory over New Jersey. Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton scored 21 points apiece to pace the Pistons, who extended their winning streak to five games.

Despite winning 10 of its last 12 overall matchups with New York, the Pistons have struggled here, going just 7-20 at Madison Square Garden since 1991.
