Mavericks aim for ninth consecutive win, face Hornets
Dec 30, 2006 - 4:43 PM New Orleans (12-17) at Dallas (22-7) 8:30 pm ESTDALLAS (Ticker) - The Dallas Mavericks look to extend their winning streak to nine games Saturday when they host the New Orleans Hornets.
Since losing their first four games, the defending Western Conference champion Mavericks have gone 22-3 to take over the NBA's best record. Included in the impressive run was a 12-game winning streak.
Jason Terry scored 35 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 27 as the Mavericks rallied for a 101-99 victory over Phoenix on Thursday. Nowitzki provided the winning points by nailing a jumper with one second remaining.
Devin Brown scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Hornets to a 99-89 triumph over Denver on Friday.
