McGrady, Rockets look to win three straight vs. Grizzlies

Dec 31, 2006 - 4:40 PM Memphis (7-24) at Houston (18-12) 7:00 pm EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets look to gain ground in the Western Conference as they host the last-place Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.

Tracy McGrady scored 31 points to lead Houston to a 94-68 rout of the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

The six-time All-Star, who was playing in his third game since missing the previous seven with the back injury, shot 13-of-18 from the floor for the Rockets, who have won two straight and are 2-1 since Yao Ming broke a bone under his right knee on December 23.

Mike Miller scored 27 points and Pau Gasol added 22 and 11 rebounds as Memphis beat Toronto, 110-104, on Saturday in coach Tony Barone's debut.

Barone, the team's director of player personnel, took over on an interim basis after Mike Fratello was fired Thursday.

The Rockets, who are playing the second of four consecutive home games, have held opponents to 84.7 points per game at Toyota Center, including five under 80.
