Mavericks go for 11th straight victory

Jan 2, 2007 - 6:18 PM Seattle (13-19) at Dallas (24-7) 8:30 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks could be shorthanded when they go for their 11th straight win Wednesday against the Seattle SuperSonics.

Playing without superstar Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas stretched its winning streak to 10 games with an 89-85 road win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Josh Howard picked up the slack with 28 points and 17 rebounds for the Mavericks, who won 12 in a row earlier this season.

Still nursing a sprained ankle, Nowitzki is a game-time decision with a sinus infection. Reserve swingman Jerry Stackhouse is out with a sprained left ankle.

The SuperSonics snapped a two-game losing streak with a 101-95 home win over Boston on Sunday. Chris Wilcox scored a season-high 24 points while Damien Wilkins added 20.

Seattle's Ray Allen, who is averaging 24.7 points per game, finished with 15 points after managing 14 in Friday's 101-82 loss to Minnesota.
