James, Cavaliers aim to continue their win streak vs. Celtics

Jan 3, 2007 - 4:23 PM Cleveland (18-12) at Boston (11-19) 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers look to win their seventh straight game vs. the Boston Celtics when the teams meet Wednesday.

LeBron James has taken special pleasure in defeating the Celtics. The fourth year superstar has helped Cleveland win six straight against Boston, including a 94-93 win over the Celtics on November 11.

In that game James scored 38 points, including 25 in the second half as the Cavaliers erased a 19-point fourth quarter deficit.

On Tuesday, James had 19 points and Larry Hughes added 18 for Cleveland, which powered to an 82-78 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. It was only the fifth time James has been held under 20 points this season, but he helped sweep the season series against the Spurs.

Boston snapped a six-game losing streak with an 89-81 win at Portland on Monday.

Tony Allen scored 22 points and hauled in eight rebounds and Ryan Gomes added 18 and 10 for the Celtics, who also snapped a five-game road losing streak.

Allen has been a poor-man's version of Paul Pierce, averaging 21.6 points and 7.0 rebounds in his last three games. Pierce continues to be out with a foot injury.

The Boston hasn't beaten Cleveland since a 114-107 overtime victory on Dec. 18, 2004.
