Warriors take on Grizzlies in second game without Richardson

Jan 3, 2007 - 5:00 PM Golden State (17-16) at Memphis (7-25) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors won their first game without the injured Jason Richardson and have to get used to playing without him.

The Warriors, who learned Richardson could be out awhile after breaking his right hand, travel to Memphis to battle with the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Golden State won their first game without Richardson, defeating the New Orleans Hornets, 97-89, on Tuesday. Baron Davis and Matt Barnes came up huge, each netting 29 points.

The Warriors, 3-1 in their last four, won despite shooting only 39.5 percent (34-of-86) from the field.

The Grizzlies continue to struggle, as they have dropped six of their last seven games. Memphis was defeated in a close game, 111-109 by the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

A reason for Memphis' problems this season is its shooting, as its 44.3 field-goal percentage is ranked 27th in the NBA. Another problem has been the inability to win at home as they are only 5-9 at home this season.
