Knicks wrap up five-game road trip in Seattle

Jan 5, 2007 - 2:37 PM New York (14-21) at Seattle (13-21) 10:30 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks still have an opportunity to put a positive spin on a losing road trip.

After dropping the first three contests of the five-game trip, New York looks for its second straight victory Friday when it visits the struggling Seattle Supersonics.

The Knicks have lost four of five, with the lone win coming in triple overtime over the Detroit Pistons on December 27. After that they lost three straight at Phoenix, the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento.

Eddy Curry scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Jamal Crawford added 25 and Stephon Marbury 17 for the Knicks in Wednesday's 99-81 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Seattle has dropped four of its last five and 10 of its last 13. The SuperSonics are 24th in the league in points allowed (101.4).

Ray Allen made 13-of-22 shots to score 32 points and Damien Wilkins added 19 for Seattle, which committed only eight turnovers in Wednesday's 103-96 loss to the Houston Rockets.

New York won both meetings against Seattle last season, including a 120-116 victory on January 8.
