Hawks can snap seven-game losing streak vs. Raptors

Jan 5, 2007 - 2:44 PM Atlanta (9-20) at Toronto (13-19) 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks have had some success against the Toronto Raptors.

Atlanta looks to end a seven-game losing streak and defeat Toronto for the third time in as many meetings when the teams square off on Friday.

One of three teams in the Eastern Conference with fewer than 10 victories this season, Atlanta is winless since posting a 97-88 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies on December 15. The Hawks have dropped 11 of their last 12 contests and have averaged just 79.2 points in their last five.

Joe Johnson scored 23 points and Josh Childress added 19 for Atlanta, which committed 20 turnovers in last Sunday's 95-81 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Toronto showed some signs of life by winning five of six in mid-December. However, the Raptors have lost four of five since then, including three in a row.

Chris Bosh scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and rookie Andrea Bargnani added 17 for Toronto in Wednesday's 100-98 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Johnson scored 27 points to lead the Hawks to a 97-93 triumph over the Raptors in their most recent showdown on November 24.
