Brand, Clippers face off vs. lowly Hawks

Jan 6, 2007 - 4:57 PM LA Clippers (15-18) at Atlanta (9-21) 7:00 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Mike Dunleavy hopes to guide the Los Angeles Clippers to a rare road win on Saturday.

The Clippers bring their horrific 3-12 road record to town when they face off against the lowly Atlanta Hawks, who are riding a seven-game losing streak.

All-Star Elton Brand had 29 points and 12 rebounds but it was not enough to keep Los Angeles from dropping a 116-105 decision at Washington on Friday.

The Clippers are tied with the Charlotte Bobcats for the second-worst road mark in the NBA, just one win better than Memphis.

Former second overall pick Marvin Williams scored 24 points and Speedy Claxton chipped in 18 for Atlanta in Friday's 105-92 setback against the Toronto Raptors.

Hawks swingman Joe Johnson has struggled of late, reaching the 20-point plateau just once over his last five games. Prior to this slump, he only failed to score under 20 points one time.

The Clippers have won six straight meetings against the Hawks.
