Spurs seek to snap skid vs. lowly Grizzlies

Jan 7, 2007 - 2:50 PM San Antonio (23-11) at Memphis (8-26) 4:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs are running into the hapless Memphis Grizzlies at the right time.

The Spurs look to avoid losing their fourth straight game when they tangle with the Grizzlies on Sunday.

San Antonio, currently in fourth place in the Western Conference, has not been sharp of late. The Spurs dropped their third straight game, 90-85, at home against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.

Manu Ginobili, who is averaging 15.7 points per game, led the Spurs with 25 points while Tim Duncan added 18.

The Grizzlies, mired in last place in the conference, fell to 6-10 at home when they dropped a 128-119 decision to the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Mike Miller and Pau Gasol each scored 24 points to lead the Grizzlies, who turned the ball over 19 times and only shot 30 percent from 3-point range.
