McGrady, Rockets seek sixth consecutive win

Jan 7, 2007 - 2:57 PM Houston (21-12) at Minnesota (16-15) 3:30 pm EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Superstar Tracy McGrady has the Houston Rockets blasting off.

McGrady and the Rockets search for their sixth straight win Sunday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

McGrady collected a season-high 44 points and nine rebounds for Houston, which coasted to a 100-86 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday.

After missing seven games last month with back spasms, McGrady has started to round into form, scoring over 30 points in four straight games.

Perennial All-Star Kevin Garnett scored 25 points - including the game-winning shot as time expired - to help the Timberwolves edge Philadelphia, 104-102, in overtime on Friday.

Minnesota has won three straight and six of its last eight games to get back above .500 for the first time since December 9.

Garnett scored 24 points to lead the Timberwolves to a 90-84 win here on December 6, while McGrady was held in check with just 14 points.
