Pacers go for third straight win vs. struggling Celtics

Jan 10, 2007 - 2:36 PM Indiana (19-16) at Boston (12-21) 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) -- Despite being a postseason contender in the Eastern Conference, the Indiana Pacers have yet to win three consecutive games this season. They hope to do so against a team simply looking for a victory by any means possible.

Al Harrington and the Pacers shoot for their first three game-winning streak of the season Wednesday when they visit the struggling Boston Celtics.

Indiana owns the conference's seventh-best record and has reeled off consecutive wins eight different times this season. But the Pacers have been turned aside each time they attempted for a third straight triumph.

The latest instance was on December 30, when Indiana struggled defensively in a 113-102 loss to Charlotte. Harrington managed just nine points in that contest but has been outstanding since then, averaging 23.0 points over his last three games.

Harrington scored 18 points Tuesday to lead the Pacers to a 91-72 triumph over the Atlanta Hawks. Danny Granger added 15 points for Indiana while Stephen Jackson finished with 12.

Indiana on Wednesday squares off with a Celtics team that has lost three straight home games and eight of its last 10 overall.

Tony Allen led Boston with 21 points in an 87-79 loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
