Garnett, Timberwolves look for fifth straight win
Jan 10, 2007 - 2:49 PM LA Clippers (16-19) at Minnesota (17-15) 8:00 pm ESTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves certainly have had to work hard for their last three wins. They hope to continue their winning streak in less difficult fashion.
The surging Timberwolves aim for their fifth consecutive victory Wednesday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
One of the surprise teams in the Western Conference thus far, Minnesota has won three straight overtime decisions, including a 103-99 triumph over Houston on Sunday.
Garnett scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in that contest to register his sixth straight double-double. The former league MVP is averaging 22.4 points and is second in the NBA in rebounding at 12.4 per game, trailing only Orlando's Dwight Howard.
The Timberwolves currently are on their second four-game winning streak of the season and look for a season-high fifth straight victory Wednesday. Minnesota has not won five in a row since December 2-10, 2005.
The Clippers, who have stumbled on the road throughout the campaign, look to end their six-game road trip with a 3-3 record.
Los Angeles hopes to carry some momentum from its 100-90 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday.
Sam Cassell scored 31 points while Cuttino Mobley added 20 for the Clippers, who improved to 4-13 on the road this season.
