Slumping SuperSonics hope to avoid sixth straight loss

Jan 10, 2007 - 3:02 PM Miami (14-19) at Seattle (13-24) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Ray Allen and the sliding Seattle SuperSonics hope to begin their homestand by ending their skid.

The SuperSonics aim to avoid matching a season-high six-game losing streak Wednesday when they host Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.

Still without injured second-leading scorer Rashard Lewis (finger), Seattle dropped its fifth straight overall and its 12th consecutive road decision in Tuesday's 113-102 loss at Phoenix.

Nick Collison collected 29 points and 21 rebounds - both career highs - and Allen chipped in 25 points for the Sonics, who fell to 4-16 on the road this season.

Seattle opens a seven-game homestand Wednesday against a Heat squad in the midst of a six-game road swing.

Wade, who had missed four games with a wrist injury, returned to the lineup Sunday and scored 33 points in Miami's 93-90 triumph at Portland.

Jason Kapono added 19 points for the Heat, who snapped a five-game skid and improved to 6-10 on the road this season.
