Banged up Celtics host Raptors, look to break losing streak

Jan 12, 2007 - 2:52 PM Toronto (16-20) at Boston (12-22) 7:30 pm EST

BOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Celtics hope to overcome yet another injury when they host the Toronto Raptors on Friday.

Not only did Boston drop its last game, a 97-84 decision to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, the team lost guard Tony Allen for the season with a knee injury.

Allen was averaging 11.5 points on the campaign.

Boston also should be without injured regulars Paul Pierce, Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak and Theo Ratliff. Pierce, who is out with a foot injury, leads Boston with an average of 26.6 points.

Toronto has won three of its last four games, including a 90-77 triumph over Milwaukee on Wednesday. Chris Bosh led the Raptors with 30 points while Anthony Parker finished with 18.

Bosh, who is averaging 20.9 points this season, went 11-of-16 from the field and sank all eight of his free throws. The effort was a nice way to bounce back for Bosh, who only scored 12 points in a 101-86 loss to the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday.
