Okafor hopes to guide Bobcats to third consecutive win

Jan 13, 2007 - 5:00 PM Philadelphia (10-26) at Charlotte (11-23) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Bobcats are close to doing something they haven't done all season.

The youthful Bobcats search for their first three-game winning streak of the season Saturday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers.

Charlotte has not been able to win three straight games since a four-game winning streak to finish last year's campaign from April 14-19.

The Bobcats posted a 126-110 triumph on Friday against the New York Knicks behind emerging star Emeka Okafor, who collected 20 points, nine rebounds and a season-best 10 blocks.

Fourth-year guard Matt Carroll has been impressive over his last six outings for Charlotte, averaging 21.6 points.

Philadelphia snapped its five-game slide with a 110-97 victory over the injury-riddled Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Willie Green scored 30 points and Andre Iguodala added 26 and five steals to the lead the charge for the Sixers.

The 76ers have dropped three of their last four meetings against the Bobcats, including a 96-86 setback here last April 19.
