Chicago hopes to rebound from loss

Jan 13, 2007 - 5:22 PM Memphis (9-28) at Chicago (20-17) 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls are looking less like a playoff team each time they take the court.

Looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in their last contest, the Bulls will take on the lowly Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

Chicago has blown two 18-point leads in the last week and has lost five of its last six contests. On Thursday, the Bulls suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of the New Jersey Nets. Andres Nocioni scored 28 points and Ben Gordon added 23.

Chicago, which has disappointed this season after lofty preseason expectations, also blew an 18-point cushion against the Nets on January 5. The Bulls' current stretch of poor play is reminiscent of their 3-9 start to the campaign.

On Friday, the Grizzlies suffered their third defeat in four games, a 116-110 loss to Minnesota. Mike Miller scored 23 points and dished seven assists and Pau Gasol added 20 points for Memphis, which fell to a league-worst 9-28. But the Grizzlies are 3-4 under interim coach Tony Barone.

Over the last 13 games, the Grizzlies have allowed opponents to average 113.9 points.

The Grizzlies have lost nine of their last 11 visits to the United Center.
