Cavaliers hope to bounce back vs. streaking Clippers
Jan 13, 2007 - 5:51 PM Cleveland (22-13) at LA Clippers (17-19) 10:30 pm ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Coming off one of their worst performances of the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers will look to bounce back when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
In its last contest, Cleveland was routed by Phoenix, 109-90, in the third game of a tough seven-game road trip. The Cavaliers trailed by over 30 points at one point in the game and embarrassed themselves in a game that many dubbed a possible NBA Finals preview.
LeBron James scored 34 points for the Cavaliers, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.
After winning the last two games of a six-game road trip, the Clippers return home to improve on their 12-6 mark at Staples Center. The Clippers capped the trip with a dramatic 92-91 win over Minnesota on Wednesday.
In Los Angeles' last contest, Sam Cassell made his first start since December 2 and scored 18 points. Cassell had been sidelined for seven games with a sore heel.
The home team has been victorious in the last seven matchups between these squads.
