Bobcats seek franchise's first win over Bucks

Jan 15, 2007 - 2:44 PM Milwaukee (16-20) at Charlotte (12-23) 1:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- With one simple victory, the Charlotte Bobcats can reach a pair of franchise milestones.

The Bobcats can tie a team record with four consecutive wins with their first-ever triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks when the teams meet Monday.

Charlotte has won five of its last seven games and is looking to capture four in a row since taking the final four games of last season from April 14-19. The Bobcats did not win their 13th contest of 2005-2006 until February 6.

Despite nearly squandering a 17-point lead, Charlotte held on for an 89-83 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Rookie Adam Morrison scored 17 points, Derek Anderson had 15 and Raymond Felton 14 for the Bobcats.

The Bucks have lost five in a row for the first time since an eight-game skid from March 20-April 1, 2005.

Milwaukee received some extra rest because Saturday's contest against the New Orleans Hornets was postponed due to weather problems which prevented the Hornets from leaving Oklahoma City.

With starting guards Michael Redd and Mo Williams sidelined with injuries, Earl Boykins made an immediate impact in his debut with Milwaukee after being acquired from Denver on Thursday.

The 5-5 Boykins scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for the Bucks in Friday's 110-97 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers.
