Golden State aims for home-and-home sweep of Clippers
Jan 17, 2007 - 4:59 PM Golden State (19-20) at LA Clippers (17-21) 10:30 pm ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors try to complete a home-and-home sweep when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
On Monday, the Warriors won the front end of the series, snapping a three-game losing streak with a 108-93 victory. Reserve Monta Ellis scored 24 points and is averaging 19.5 points in his last five contests.
Completing the sweep may be difficult for the Warriors, who are just 4-13 on the road and surrendering a league-worst 106.6 points per game.
Monday's loss ended a stretch of seven road games in eight contests for the Clippers, who play their next five games at home and hope to get untracked. They have lost four of six overall and look nothing like the team that was within one win of the Western Conference finals a year ago.
