First place is on the line when the Wizards visit Magic

Jan 19, 2007 - 2:49 PM Washington (22-16) at Orlando (22-17) 7:00 pm EST

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The top spot in the NBA's Southeast Division is on the line as the Washington Wizards travel to Orlando to take on the Magic.

The Wizards, who hold a 1/2 game lead in the division standings, have won two straight after suffering back-to-back losses.

In its last game, Washington held off New York, 99-98, on Tuesday. Caron Butler had 27 points and a career-high 10 assists and Antawn Jamison added 21 points for the Wizards.

Washington found a way to win despite receiving a subpar performance from Gilbert Arenas. The league's second leading scorer at 29.9 points, Arenas had already dropped 36 points on Orlando earlier this season but was only 4-of-14 from the field and managed only 16 points Tuesday.

Orlando is coming off an 84-78 overtime loss to New Orleans on Tuesday. Dwight Howard scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Hedo Turkoglu added 16 and seven for Orlando, which finished 1-3 on its four-game road trip.

The point total was a season low for the Magic, who have won four straight and six of eight at home.

The winner of this contest takes over sole possession of first place in the division.
