Bosh looks to guide upstart Raptors past Jazz

Jan 19, 2007 - 3:00 PM Utah (25-14) at Toronto (19-21) 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) - The surging Toronto Raptors are starting to pick up some steam.

All-Star Chris Bosh and the Raptors aim for their fifth victory in six games when they host the Utah Jazz on Friday.

Toronto is coming off an impressive 101-85 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Morris Peterson scored 22 points and Bosh added 20 and nine rebounds.

The Raptors are 11-6 at home through 17 games this season compared to last year's horrific 4-13 showing over the same stretch. They have won three of the last four games here.

The Jazz ended their season-high four-game losing streak Wednesday with a 100-99 triumph at Detroit. Second-year guard Deron Williams led the way with a career-best 31 points.

Center Mehmet Okur has been unstoppable on Utah's four-game East Coast swing. He is averaging 30 points and eight rebounds in his last two games, highlighted by his career-high 38-point performance at Washington on Monday.

Toronto has dropped the last three meeting against the Jazz, including a 101-96 decision on November 20 at EnergySolutions Arena.
