SuperSonics ain for third straight win

Jan 19, 2007 - 4:04 PM Milwaukee (17-21) at Seattle (15-25) 10:30 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) - The Seattle SuperSonics go for their third straight win when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

The Sonics claimed their second straight triumph with a 101-96 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. Ray Allen, who has been steady all season but hot lately, led Seattle with 22 points.

The guard, who is averaging 25.7 points per game this season, is averaging 33.6 points his last five games, including a 54-point outburst in a 122-114 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday.

Milwaukee has been having trouble lately in losing six of its last seven games. A lack of offense has been a problem for the Bucks, who are averaging 101.6 points per game, the sixth-highest amount in the NBA. But in their last five losses, the Bucks have only averaged 91 points per game.

The Bucks shot 39 percent ( 30-of-78) in a 99-90 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Rookie forward Ersan Ilyasova, who is only averaging 5.4 points per game, stepped up for the Bucks with 22 points.

Earl Boykins, averaging 15.6 points per game, finished with 17 despite only shooting 4-of-17 from the floor.
